PhD Candidate / McGill University
I study how machine learning can help us understand and secure software when source code is unavailable.
I am a PhD candidate at McGill University, supervised by Prof. Benjamin C. M. Fung. My research brings together software reverse engineering, natural language processing, and representation learning.
I focus on binary code similarity: identifying related functions across compilers, optimization settings, and architectures. My broader interests include language models for code and learning-guided vulnerability discovery.

Machine learning · Language models · Software security
Analyzing source code and binaries to recover program semantics and identify related code across compilers, optimization settings, and architectures.
Binary analysis · Program understanding · Code similarity
Detecting vulnerabilities in source code and binaries through program analysis, learned representations, and code similarity.
Vulnerability discovery · Vulnerability matching
Investigating code provenance, third-party dependencies, and the propagation of known vulnerabilities across reused software components.
